The big news is that there are no current due dates. Students should have completed and shared their surveys. We spent time today reviewing (proofreading and editing) surveys (about half of them) so that students could make any necessary changes to the surveys in order to make them better. We will continue this process tomorrow.
Due Dates
Wed. 9/28 - by start of day
Where we are heading... For those students who have completed their survey development, they can begin working on the cover page and Section 1 (competitive analysis) of the Final Marketing Report. If you click on the link below, you will find more information, or look further down this page. http://tririverfoods.weebly.com/market-analysis-report.html Cover Page Requirements
We have completed about half of the Performance Reviews. We should have them all completed before the end of the week. These reviews do not replace the regular assessments but are intended to help the students think a bit more deeply about the quality of the progress they are making and work they are doing. When completed, a student's Performance Review is shared with parents and guardians via Good Docs.
Due Dates Wed. 9/28 - by start of day
Specific Survey Requirements
As of 3:00 Friday, students should have shared their Chapter 3 Animal Farm questions.
Also, a reminder to those students that have not completed, printed, and turned in 5 Survey Goals... Please send them to me as an attachment. First - A little bit of 8th grade news...
The 8th graders are responsible for turning in the End of Year Project Proposal by October 6. This proposal will outline the project, highlight the steps that need to be taken to complete the project, discuss how the project will be presented at the end of the year, and state the three people that will be on the project committee (two CLC staff and one outside member, an adult). Following up on the proposal is a proposal hearing. Each 8th grader will make a 2 to 3 minute presentation to the school that outlines their project. These presentations will happen on November 4. It is important to note that the End of Year Project has two parts. Part one is the project that the student works on throughout the year. The project is usually something they make, build, create or ultimately due. The second part is the final presentation. Simply put, the student will present, in a creative, informative, and entertaining way, what they have built, created, and or done over the year. Now some MR news... Due Dates Thurs. 9/22 - Trading Card
Due to the complexity of the projects we do, it can be difficult for people outside of class (parents) to understand what all of the different assignment are, what they involve, and when then they are due. I do my best to help everyone understand and keep track, but if you have questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
You may have noticed that the students are completing a number of different forms. These forms are designed to help them gather and organize information that will eventually become part of a detailed marketing report about the food product they will be developing. The students have just finished looking at their competitors and the competing products. They are now turning their attention to their customers' characteristics, needs, and wants. Part of this involves developing and implementing a survey. They will be writing survey questions, distributing the survey through a Google Form, and organizing and analyzing the results of the survey. The survey results will be included in the final marketing report. The final piece of the marketing report is an opportunities section. This is where the students discuss the type of food they might create and the niche it might fill. This last section will be informed by the previous sections. Updated due dates... Thurs. 9/22 by first thing in the morning - (Students were given time during class to finish the following forms.)
