We have finished reading chapter 3 of The Great Gatsby. Students should now read chapter 4 on their own.
Due Dates Chapter 4 of The Great Gatsby should be read prior to coming to school on Tuesday of next week.
Due Dates
Tuesday - Country presentation will begin at 10:15 or so. Thursday - Chapter 2 Gatsby questions are due... Beginning this week, during the afternoons on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, the students will have some time to work on their end of the year projects/presentations. I spent some time today discussing the presentations with the 7th graders. Their project/presentation is similar to what the 8th graders are required to do, but they only have to present for 10 to 15 minutes. After the discussion, it seemed that a number of the 7th graders had great ideas for what they want to do for their end of the year project. We will finalize topics on Wednesday afternoon of this week, and I will send home a list of those topics. The students are creating presentations that highlight information about a particular country of their choosing. This presentation is due on Tuesday of next week. We have just finished reading chapter one of The Great Gatsby, and we are moving on to chapter 2. Having read the first paragraph of chapter 2, I would like each student to look up a picture of the Valley of Ashes and the eyes of Doctor T.J. Eckleburg. On Monday, we will be discussing what these things are. |
