I was out of school on Tuesday due to illness, and then we had a snow day on Wednesday. Today was a bit of a catch up day.
Little Prince... Raisa and I met with each group of students and went over requirements for their final projects for The Little Prince, and we established due dates for the final projects. Over the weekend, this information will be organized and reported here and in an email. Infrastructure... We continue to do a number of different inrtroductory activities. Today we looked at the criterion the ASCE used to grade the infrastructre of America. We also looked at how to take the aphabetical grades and turn them into numerical scores that could be used to create charts in order to better understand trends. We have finished reading The Little Prince. Working individually or in small teams, the students are currently developing ideas for projects that will highlight different aspects of the story. I will meet with each group tomorrow in order to establish due dates and general requirements for each project. I will publish the due dates and requirements by the end of the day.
For tomorrow, Tuesday, students should be ready with an example of how to understand big numbers like billions and trillions. |
