During the week (mornings), the students will be working in teams to make racing cars out of Pasta. On the following Monday, we race. Cars must be able to roll down a ramp. Just a quick note that Animal Farm Chapter 1 questions are due on Friday (tomorrow) by the end of the day. The responses should be completed as a Google Doc and shared with Mark and Raisa.
Also, we have a new printer. Maybe not exciting for you, but sure is exciting for us. We have completed all but two of the Animal Farm pre-reading presentations. We will finish the final two presentations tomorrow morning. We have also completed reading the first chapter of Animal Farm. This first chapter we read as a group. The students will read chapter 2 on their own. Before we move on to chapter 2, the students will be assigned some chapter 1 questions. That will happen tomorrow. You can point your browser to the reading link above and head to Animal Farm to review the chapter 1 questions.
Specials start tomorrow. No homework or assignments are due. Mark Been having a bit of trouble with our printer. The students were given a bit of extra time (the end of today) to get in the rough draft of the trading card and the final copy of the goals. I now have the documents and will be working with the students to edit the trading cards and will assess the goals. Will be sending home a brief assessment of the goals in the next few days.
The students were assigned a group project to introduce Animal Farm. Each group has been given a topic that relates to the Russian Revolution. The group must present 5 important things about the topic. For more information, and the topic list, click on the reading link on the MR Website. The final presentations are due tomorrow after lunch.
