We are reading and learning about what life was like for immigrants who came to America through Ellis Island and lived in New York during 1911. Almost all Americans have an immigration story somewhere in their heritage. Your assignment is to learn about your ancestors and find your immigration story. Some of you will only have to go back 1 or 2 generations and some of you will have to go back many, many generations. Let’s find out where you come from and a little about your heritage.
