Parents and students are encouraged to use the Google Form that was shared to review the progress being made on the infrastructure project.
We spent a good bit of today meeting with the students in order to organize and verify what the students need to do over the next two weeks or so. If you look at the previous days email, it will give you a good sense of what the expectations are for each student or team. Due dates for part 1 of the infrastructure project appear at the bottom of this page. With that said, we are beginning to turn our attention to part 2. Again, if you point your browser to http://clcce.weebly.com/infrastructure-museum-exhibit.html you can review the requirements for part 2 and see a rough draft of an example. A number of students have already made very good progress on part 2. Several teams have completed interviews with experts and engineers, and they have turned those interviews into videos. Over the next few days, we will be meeting with specific students and teams in order to break up the requirements for part 2 so that this part of the project is not so overwhelming. We will also be putting together some due dates to help students move through the requirements of part 2.
As always, at any time you can ask your child to show you what they have accomplished and or are working on. I have also created a rough website that reflects what the students might create for Part 2. The website is not complete and needs some final editing, but it does show how a student might organize and display information. It also highlights to interviews in order to demonstrate how the interviews might be used. The website is a link off of the page listed above.

MR team spent the day planning out the individual requirements for the upcoming museum and establishing due dates for the first few requirements. By Friday, each student should have a set of requirements and due dates for each requirement. Over the weekend, I hope to send this information home. As stated before, we have taken the initial requirements and are adapting them to each student in order to individualize the work requirements. In general, all of the students will be developing the following parts and pieces. Part 1 - General History and Technology behind the infrastructure (example... dam)
Part 2 - Assessment of Specific Infrastructure (example... Whipple Dam) This might be a flip book, video, slide show, posters. This part will reflect what the ASCE created for each individual infrastructure. Students will need to go to visit the specific infrastructure that they have selected in order to gather information.
