End of Year Project (EOYP)
All 7th and 8th grade students are responsible for completing and presenting an End of Year Project (EOYP). What the project is and the form it takes is up to you. You will have the next several months to develop and complete the project. Near the end of the year, using a format that you think is best, you will present the completed project to the class. So, the project has two parts...
Step 1: Brainstorming Ideas
Step 2: Describing Your Project Idea
Step 3: Clarifying Your Project Idea
Step 4: Developing Your EOYP Contract
- You will do or create something.
- You will present what you have done or created.
Step 1: Brainstorming Ideas
- Although some students may already have an idea for their EOYP, I am betting that many students would benefit from a bit of brainstorming. As a class, let's brainstorm as many ideas as we can think of. Here are some to get started.
- The History of Dance: The student will discuss the history of dance and perform at least five dances.
- Building a Guitar
- Mountain Bike Repair: A Video Handbook - change a tire, replace a chain, adjust a derailleur, bleed the brakes
- Creating a New Board Game
- Recording Your First Album: Student records 5 original songs.
Step 2: Describing Your Project Idea
- Using the survey that was sent to you, please explain your EOYP in 25 words or less.
Step 3: Clarifying Your Project Idea
- Using the provided form, clarify what you will create for your final project, how you will go about creating it, how you will present the completed project to the class, what resources you will need in order to complete the project, who you can turn to for help, and a summary timeline you will follow in order to complete the project.
Step 4: Developing Your EOYP Contract
- You will develop a contract that you and I will agree to and then sign. This contract will provide very specific details about what you will create and or do for your EOYP and how you will present it. I will be posting an example in the next few days.
