Before you begin to design your exhibit, state what the epitomes of your exhibit are.
Your exhibit design should be a drawing / blueprint of your exhibit. Although it does not need to highlight all of the information that you exhibit will contain, it must demonstrate a thorough understanding of what you exhibit will look like, how it will be organized, how it will be built, and how it will work.

- Create a theme.
- Immerse your audience in the exhibit.
- Layer your exhibit
- How will you introduce your exhibit?
- How will you label your key themes?
- How will you label or title specific objects?
For each theme/topic you must
- have a large title (think poster / sign),
- have a technology component (web site, slide show, movie),
- have a poster,
- have a hands-on / interactive component,
- appeal to at least 3 of our 5 senses (taste, touch, sound, sight, smell),
- have an overall theme,
- incorporate elements of art into the design, and
- be professional, educational, and interesting.
